A book I read this summer was Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This book is 416 pages long. Something you might not know about this author is, that he likes to play video games with his kids. If you like books in the fantasy genre, then this is good book to try. My favorite conflict was when Percy and Annabeth were stuck in the boat ride because, it was very unpredictable and breathtaking.
Imagine Greek Gods being real, living on Earth. And soon, the world’s greatest war would take place between them in the middle of New York City… Percy Jackson was just an ordinary kid with ADHD and dyslexia, attending a boarding school called Yancy Academy with his best friend Grover. Until one day he finds out the Greek mythology he only knew in books becomes reality, and that Grover had known all along. After so many years Percy also finds out that his biological father is none other than Posiedan one of the three most powerful Greek gods. With all this to take in, Percy is being taken to Camp Half-Blood, a camp for people that were also the children of gods. There he meets Annabeth daughter of Athena. After spending sometime there Percy is being blamed for stealing Zeus’s lightning bolt, the most powerful object in the world. If Percy and his friends don’t return it to him by the end of ten days, World War III may take place… Read Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.
